With Senate Vote, Congress Passes Border Fence Bill

Source: wapo
The Senate gave final approval last night to legislation authorizing the construction of 700 miles of double-layered fencing on the U.S.-Mexico border, shelving President Bush's vision of a comprehensive overhaul of U.S. immigration laws in favor of a vast barrier.
Okay, I'm pleased as punch that this passed, I really am, but, this is the beginning of something not the end. Do I think Washington gets it in their guts how upset Americans are over this issue? Or, are they still trying to massage us and coddle us to make this go away? My money's on the latter.

Many of the same joker's who got us into this mess are still in Washington, but now their singing a different tune. Well, I won't feel comfortable until we can have quite a few more Tom Tancredo's defending the people of this country.

But we must allow ourselves even a smidgen of overconfidence. We must keep hammering away at these bastards who would sell our heritage and our children's future down some putrid third-world river, sans paddles. We need to beat every single one of these organizations back under the rocks from which they have oozed.
Previous thoughts...here.
